CAPS for the Senior Phase guides teaching and assessment for Grades 7–9, ensuring structured learning that supports critical thinking and smooth progression into higher grades.

A single comprehensive Curriculum and Assessment Policy document was developed for each subject to replace Subject Statements, Learning Programme Guidelines and Subject Assessment Guidelines in Grades R-12.
